Walters Art Museum
Walters Art Museum, located in Mount Vernon-Belvedere, Baltimore, Maryland, is a public art museum since 1934. It holds collections established during the mid-19th century.
The Walters Art Museum is one of only a few museums in the world to present a panorama of art from the third millennium B.C. to the early 20th century. The thousands of treasures range from mummies to arms and armor, from old master paintings to Art Nouveau jewelry. The Walters’ Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Ethiopian and Western Medieval art collections are among the finest in the nation, as are the museum’s holdings of Renaissance and Asian art and a spectacular reserve illuminate manuscripts and rare books.
Accessibility
Visitors with minor mobility please enter through our Centre Street entrance. Complimentary wheelchairs are available at the Information / Ticketing Desk in the Centre Street lobby on a first-come, first-serve basis.
In addition, for visitors who are deaf or hard of hearing, assistive listening devices are available from the Information / Ticketing Desk for all auditorium programs. Sign language interpretation is available with three weeks’ notice.
Parking
Furthermore, a parking lot is across the street from the museum at Centre and Cathedral streets. It is staffed by an attendant from LAZ parking. Most of all, museum members are eligible for ideal rates. Finally, stop by the Ticketing and Information Desk to get parking tickets for validation.
